Tracks 'Unmapping Trans Counter-Geographies'
On-the-move interview with Deer

This route goes through the peninsula of Uutela. It starts at a promenade, it goes through the pier and into the forest. At a spot called Niemenapaja there is a shelter, and a place to make a fire and grill. In Finland, wild camping is legal in public land. Therefore, even though this spot is close to the city, it is legal and safe to set up the tent. We spent the night there, and the next day we hiked all around the peninsula, which still had some snowy spots at the end of April.
There are many paths, but the peninsula is not very big so there is not a high risk of getting lost and the paths are not technically difficult.
